I was born at Uşak in Türkiye. I received my MA degree from the Department of Archaeology at Bilkent University, and Ph.D. degree from the Institute for Planetary Materials at Okayama University.
Since 2013, I have joined the Kaman-Kalehöyük and Yassıhöyük excavations & research conducted by the Japanese Institute of Anatolian Archaeology in Kırşehir. I focused on the pottery cultures in Central Anatolia during the Middle Iron Age by studying typological features of the pottery assemblage from Yassıhöyük during my MA study.
In my PhD, I examined the texture, mineralogy and chemical compositions of ancient iron-rich artefacts from the Bronze Age settlement levels in Kaman-Kalehöyük. This study aims to trace the early history of iron in Central Anatolia by applying the geochemical methods on archaeometallurgical samples and integrating with archaeological context. I still continue working in this project to search for further clues about the early iron history.
